The demographic crisis
Children are not only the future, they are the architects of a thriving, resilient, and interconnected world.
The demographic crisis in Armenia, particularly in rural communities along its borders, stems from devastating earthquakes and wars, compounded by low birth and fertility rates, and high emigration.
The most enduring way to reverse the population decline is to provide comprehensive support to children and families from childbirth through adulthood, with a critical focus on the early years from birth to age three.
Investing in our youngest citizens is crucial. By nurturing competent, responsible, and compassionate individuals, we secure the foundation of a strong and vibrant local society and foster a generation that will positively impact the global community. Children are not only the future; they are the architects of a thriving, resilient, and interconnected world.
The challenges facing this small country are enormous: loss of life, large agricultural lands, and vital roads connecting Armenian communities, coupled with a massive number of refugees and continuous attacks on borderline rural areas. These threats jeopardize their very existence.
CERA aims to address these challenges through both short-term and long-term objectives. Immediate assistance helps families meet their children’s basic needs, such as food, clothing, and educational supplies. Long-term comprehensive support addresses psychological, social, emotional, cultural, and medical needs, alongside transformative, high-quality education.
This will empower our youngest citizens to grow into competent individuals to assume leadership roles within their communities and on the global stage, working harmoniously with international counterparts to tackle collective challenges, such as ecological threats, environmental conservation, and fostering peaceful coexistence through diplomacy and cooperation. Together, they will build a brighter, more united, and resilient future for all.
