One child at a time…One family at a time…
No mother should feel selfish for bringing new life into this world. No family should feel like they are committing an act of heroism for simply living in their home on their ancestral land, on the land that their grandparents have lived on, and their ancestors have lived on for thousands of years. Yet, this is the reality for much of Armenia today, especially in borderline communities all across this small country.
Devastating earthquakes and wars have left our borderline communities vulnerable and exposed to ongoing threats, threatening the very existence of these communities. We have been robbed of our most precious asset – the human capital, the vibrant young lives who would have continued to live and create, to spread joy and kindness, to be the guardians of our homeland, and to serve as the bridge to the next generation.
The best way to honor the memory and the ultimate sacrifice of those who lost their lives in wars is to ensure new bright lives are born who will carry on the torch and fulfill the dreams of those who simply did not get a chance. Each new life represents a promise for the future, a beacon of hope that can rebuild and strengthen our communities, honoring the past by investing in a brighter, more resilient future.
Our border villages stand as the gateways to Armenia, and it is in these very gateways that we must fortify the strength of our Mother Armenia. We must transform them into fortresses of strength and fortitude where every child, every newborn is nurtured and protected in the loving embrace of our nation.
When our hearts beat as ONE there is no challenge too great for us to overcome. Let us fill our homes with the joyful cries of newborns once more, as a testament to our unwavering determination and resolve in the face of adversity.
